Neighbors
A lot of people ask about neighboring stations, so here are two quick ones nearby.
Port Lockroy, an historic site staffed by the United Kingdom, and Vernadsky Station, which use to be Faraday (UK) but was transferred to the Ukranians in 1996.

Whale skeleton on Jougla Point near Port Lockroy- a sign from the station's early days as a whaling port.
---
Vernadsky Station- notice the new fuel tank. Not only is the design very cool, it's painted black to keep the fuel warm when the sun shines. The warm diesel doesn't precipitate wax and clog fuel filters in generators... Palmer Station has white fuel tanks.
